The [Project Name] receives updates on a quarterly basis, and the Release Board's intent is to show the planned features for the next quarter's update. These cards represent a high level of confidence in their release timing, however, these features may still move depending on unforeseen circumstances.
Feature Cards are added to the Release Board near the start of the quarter. Once they've been completed for release and the QA process begins, they are marked as Tentative. This label remains until the particular feature undergoes a final review.
If it passes its review, it is integrated into the release build and will then be marked as Committed. At this point, it is nearly certain that the feature will arrive with its corresponding update. Once the feature has been released, its status is then updated to Released.
There are two view modes available for the roadmap: Edit View and Release View.
In Edit View, you have access to a Settings Panel that allows you to configure various aspects of the dashboard and roadmap.
In this section, you can customize the appearance of the dashboard background via uploading a background image or selecting a color gradient. Additionally, you can choose different color schemes for deliverables like Released, Tentative, and Committed statuses, as well as for the sidebar, buttons, and text elements on the dashboard.
This section allows you to configure the appearance of modals used across the roadmap. You can change the background color of modals, their content areas, and buttons. There’s also an option to customize the color of the status ribbon and modal text.
In the Limits section, you can define constraints on how many columns, categories, and entries can be added to the roadmap. These settings allow you to restrict the number of items at various levels to ensure manageability and control over the roadmap's size.
This section lets you manage versioning information. You can set the last release date and update the current live version of the roadmap. The updated information will be reflected in relevant areas of the dashboard.
The Reset All button restores all settings to their default values, including dashboard appearance, modal colors, limits, and versioning. The Apply All button saves the changes you made across all the settings and applies them to the current roadmap view.
Warning: Save & Load functionality is currently under development. Reloading or navigating away from the page will result in the loss of all content. The initial implementation will utilize local storage, with future enhancements planned for server-side storage and database integration. At this stage, the tool serves as a proof of concept."
